Where it lives
The Private Coffers
A dedicated area holding the Banker, the only NPC who can actually resolve a balance or a transfer.
Sending Sovereigns to another player
The Banker can move a balance from your account to someone else's - every transfer is logged (sender, recipient, amount, and a timestamp) so a disputed trade can always be traced back.
Your live balance is also visible on your profile page once you've signed in with Steam and linked a character.
Under the hood
Balances persist through an external database (NWNX_SQL) rather than a local character variable, which is exactly why the currency can be account-wide and why it survives independently of any one character's save data. See Sovereigns Store for what you can actually spend a balance on today.
